Daniel Askill

Daniel Askill is a multi-disciplinary filmmaker and artist known for his visually stunning, music-driven, and emotionally arresting work in film, music videos, commercials, and video installations. His notable advertising campaigns include projects for Audi, Dior, Smirnoff, XBOX, and Sony. Askill directed Sia's iconic music videos "Elastic Heart" and "Chandelier," with the latter approaching two billion views on YouTube. His accolades include nominations and awards from The Grammys, MTV VMAs, Lumiere Awards, Clio, D&AD, and Cannes Lions. Born in Australia, Askill now divides his time between Los Angeles and New York, where he co-founded the creative collective Collider Studio. In 2003, his acclaimed surreal short film, "We Have Decided Not To Die," won awards at international festivals, including Clermont-Ferrand, Melbourne International, Brooklyn International, and SXSW, noted for its exploration of the human body, ritual, and visceral special effects. Askill is renowned for grand, emotionally rich work featuring balletic movement, wirework, ambitious visuals, and sophisticated VFX.
